Vogue Supperclub (FORTY2 Supperclub)

Looking for somewhere to get a little bit of food, but also party a little bit? Well, obtaining the best of both worlds definitely isn’t easy – but Vogue Supperclub is trying to make it so! They really tried to bring it when it comes to both atmosphere and decoration, but the nightclub portion of this place is pretty great. Not only can you find yourself eating a delicious dinner, but you could even go out for a few drinks afterwards (and you wouldn’t need to travel very far!). It’s located in the heart of Liberty Village, which is a pretty popular community amongst residents in Toronto. As a result, you’re going to come across a plethora of different cultures when you visit the nightclub – that’s what makes Toronto such a great place! They’ve just gone about releasing a brand new lunch menu, which is sure to sway people’s opinions when it comes to how good their food can be. They offer up reserve dinners, bottle service and even a guest-list service for special events (nightclub related, of course).

Some people have said that they have had a bad experience when it comes to this club, which is why the name-change went down. Changing the name was a good way to go about starting fresh, but it really feels like they may have fallen short on the service aspect.

How Good Was It?

At the end of it all, I can’t complain about anything too serious – but the turnout for the club was a little lackluster. I’m used to clubbing with young professionals and such, but this particular night may have been a bust. There are a lot of opportunities for parking (and it’s free!), which is a huge plus in Toronto. Finding parking is a problem, especially when you have to pay most of the time. If you can deal with the fact that not a lot of people may turn out for your night, it’s a solid option.

Others have exclaimed that the location is a little lackluster, as it isn’t really in the heart of the city (and not even really in a good spot amongst Liberty Village restaurants). The staff needs some work as well, as the service was more than just disappointing – I’ve even heard stories of people just not even receiving a plate of food at all!

About On The Mark-It Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic In Liberty Village

When On The Mark–It first opened its doors in Liberty Village Toronto back in 2008, the area was lacking in quality healthcare services, particularly given its increasing population. Their goal was to create a top-notch, professional multidisciplinary rehabilitation center to serve the growing and diverse community.

Centrally located in the heart of Toronto’s Liberty Village, On The Mark–It offers a full range of services including physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, sports medicine, acupuncture, and osteopathy.

Physiotherapy, sometimes also called physical therapy, is a healthcare discipline that is geared towards treatment and prevention of injury or disease through physical means. Physiotherapists teach recovery techniques, injury prevention, and improved physical movement.

At On The Mark–It, they have three licensed physiotherapists on staff. Each one has a detailed understanding of how the human body works and has been specially taught to relieve pain and assess and improve movement.

Chiropractic And Active Release Technique

Active Release Therapy, or ART® is a safe and effective treatment for soft tissue injuries. It’s a manual therapy that directly addresses adhesions and scar tissue that can result in weakness, pain, numbness or reduced mobility. By releasing the area of scar tissue, ART can restore proper muscle function to help the body perform at optimal efficiency.

Massage Therapy

The registered massage therapists at On The Mark–It in Liberty Village use Swedish massage as well as other techniques like trigger point therapy, fascial release, and lymph drainage to benefit their clients’ muscular, nervous and circulatory system to assist in rehabilitation following a physical injury and to improve overall health. Additionally, research has shown that massage therapy can have a positive effect on the immune system, perception of pain, respiratory function and psychological state.

Osteopathy is a complementary form of medicine that focuses on the musculoskeletal system (muscles, bones and joints). With a skilled use of manual and physical treatment interventions, osteopathy can help prevent and treat problems such as back and neck pain.

Acupuncture was first developed in China as one of the components of traditional Chinese medicine. It was used as a way to diagnose and treat pain and disease. Only recently did the scientific and medical communities of the West begin to study acupuncture to better understand its effectiveness.

Acupuncture is a safe and effective therapeutic method used to reduce pain, encourage the natural healing process and improve function of injured areas of the body. During acupuncture, very fine needles are inserted into the skin and tissues at specific points on the body. No substance is injected, and the treatment has little discomfort associated with it.

At Liberty Village’s On The Mark–It, they understand that sports injuries can sometimes be an unfortunate part of a healthy and active lifestyle. Through their professional services, you can recover more quickly from your injuries and help to prevent future ones, so that you can stay active and healthy.

On The Mark–It Physiotherapy And Sports Injury Clinic is located in the Liberty Market Building at 171 E. Liberty St., unit 151.

Tim Hudak Making the Transition into Real Estate

Tim Hudak has announced that he will no longer be handling provincial politics, only two years after being beaten out as Progressive Conservative leader (throughout a less than stellar 2014 campaign for his team). Hudak announced that he was going to resign as the MPP for Niagara West-Glanbrook, only to become chief executive of the Ontario Real Estate Association (which is actually an industry lobbying group). Hudak was initially elected in the year of 1995, only sitting at 27 years of age. He was present during the years of Mike Harris’ “Common Sense Revolution”, and also had three separate cabinet portfolios to take into account. Two of those would include consumer and business services, which helps out immensely when it comes to sporting the necessary skills as a chief executive. The Ontario Real Estate Association was said to have worked very closely with Hudak on plenty of issues, some of which would relate themselves to electronic signatures and even real estate transactions in general. They also worked together within a grow-op registry project, as well as fighting back municipal land transfer taxes.

Hudak had won the PC leadership battle during 2009, and then took his fight towards the then-premier Dalton McGuinty (during the 2011 election). The Liberals were given a minority. McGuinty was to reside a year later as a result of cancelled power plant scandals. Hudak had pledged to cut around 100,00 public sector jobs during 2014, which was a call that didn’t sit too well with many people (it was also an angle taken without any input from the parties main members). Hudak lost a lot of support from Conservative MPP’s, and had to step down, with only a month left before the election. Despite the setback, Hudak was reprised as a thoughtful and progressive MPP. He was known as being involved and always pushing to get stuff done. He’s a great option when it comes to picking a new chief executive for the Ontario Real Estate Association.

Lavelle: Toronto’s Brand New Rooftop Restaurant & Pool Lounge!

There are a lot of nifty attractions that are a part of Toronto’s vibrant community, but the LAVELLE is a brand new one that might have you turning your head for a second look. Freed Developments and Trademark Hospitality Inc. are the masterminds behind this project, and they managed to pick a seemingly perfect location. Located within the center of the King West Neighoburhood, LAVELLE is a rooftop pool lounge and bar/restaurant that has a whopping 16,000 square feet to work with. It’s essentially paradise in the sky! They offer up the classiest hospitality, designs and even cuisine around; the views are something to love quite a bit as well. The pool is 155-feet in length, making it one of the longest rooftop pools you can find in North America. As if that wasn’t enough, a portion of the pool can be covered and turned into a walkway!

Peter Freed made it so that the LAVELLE would co-exist on top of his already popular condo development, which would be the 629 King Residences. Freed has built well over 1,800 condo units within the King West area, some of which would include: Fashion House, 75 Portland and even 500 Wellington (and that’s only a few of them). Freed and his partner, Reza Abedi, came together and created Trademark Hospitality Inc. This was so they could bring the lifestyle hospitality regime to the forefront of Toronto, and it all begins with the LAVELLE. Rob Montemarana is a partner in this project as well, who is somebody that holds an abundance of experience (well over a decade) when it comes to the hospitality industry.

Whether you’re looking into a day or night trip to LAVELLE, you’re going to be pleasantly surprised. They wanted it to be an experience that only LAVELLE could provide, regardless of how hard competitors tried to mimic everything. Whether you want to relax in the sun with a cabana, or simply have yourself a nice night out with an elegant dinner – LAVELLE can help provide you with whatever you’d like. There’s fresh juice available in the garden at all times, as well as cocktail-based ice cream available as well (several flavours!).

Green P Mobile Application Now Offers Liberty Village Coupons!

Living in Liberty Village calls for a lot of different amenities to be available to you, and the retailers that surround the Liberty Village area already understand how important the right discount can be. The Toronto Parking Authority has teamed up with the many retailers around the area to offer up amazing discounts when it comes to parking. There are going to be dispensable coupons available through the parking receipt you receive (while using the Green P mobile application). There are two specific loft spaces offering up this discount, those of which would be: 115 King St. West and 34 Hanna Ave. You’ll be able to download discount coupons with ease, available from around the area retailers. If you opt-in to receive specific specials and discounts from local businesses while using the application, you’ll be able to make the most out of your money.

This is a pilot project and is being put into the working process by MobileXCo, a mobile solution provider. It could make its way across the entirety of Toronto by the year 2017, which means plenty of other retailers are going to get in on the action. Some of the retailers that are already a part of the process would be:

  • Metro
  • Global Pet Foods
  • Hero Certified Burger
  • Panago Pizza
  • Shoeless Joe’s
  • The Roastery
  • For the Love of Cake
  • Athletes’ Kitchen
  • Oats Ivy
  • Brazen Head Irish Pub
  • And plenty of other options!

This is the turning point when it comes to discount coupons. Not only will you not be paying full-price, but you’ll get to take advantage of a discount with every single parking receipt! If you live in Toronto, you already know about the necessity behind reasonable parking. You don’t want to be constantly walking around the city, and you might not be a fan of public transportation – that’s why discounts coming from your parking receipts is such an ideal situation to be in. You can make use of discounts at flower retailers, or places that offer up kitchen appliances – there is seemingly no limit to the kinds of discounts you’re going to be capable of using.

Can I Use GreenP Mobile Paid Parking In Liberty Village?

Back in March 2015, the City of Toronto launched its GreenP Mobile Parking app, when Mayor John Tory became the first Torontonian to use the app. With it, motorists could pay for parking using their smartphones at select GreenP locations, including lots in Liberty Village. Signs in the parking lots are posted with the lot’s location ID. The user keys in the location ID and their license plate number to complete the transaction. The app is currently available for free download from the iTunes Store and Google Play.

With the GreenP mobile pay program, there’s no need to search for change or to dash out of a meeting to feed the meter. The app allows you to pay for your parking in Liberty Village, track the amount of time remaining and extend your parking right from your phone.

You can load more funds to the app from your phone or your desktop.

To redeem the offer, patrons simply show the coupon on their phone.

The program is seen as a win-win in that it delivers timely and appropriate deals to consumers as they arrive in Liberty Village, and it helps retail establishments by encouraging those consumers to stay longer and visit their establishments.

Participating Businesses

Some of the businesses participating in the program from whom you might receive a coupon include Athlete’s Kitchen, Home Hardware, Kitchen Stuff Plus, For The Love Of Cake, Hero Certified Burger, Oats And Ivy, Global Pet Foods, The Roastery, Toronto FC, Metro, Shoeless Joes, Panago Pizza, William’s Landing, Suzanne Gardner, V.O.C., Vibrant Lifestyle and Smooth Wax Bar.
